This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit https://alderon-us.com (the "Site"), make a purchase, or otherwise interact with us; how we use and share it; and the choices and rights you have. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect

- Communications with our customer service team, including reviews, feedback, and return requests
Information collected automatically when you use the Site:
- IP address and the approximate location derived from it
- Browser type, device type, operating system, and screen settings
- Pages viewed, products viewed, items added to cart, time spent on the Site, and the site or advertisement that referred you
- Cookies and similar technologies (see Section 5)
Information from third parties: payment providers (payment confirmation and fraud signals), shipping carriers (delivery status), and advertising and analytics partners (information about how you interacted with our advertisements).
2. How We Use Your Information
- To process and fulfill your orders, including sharing your shipping details with our carriers
- To communicate with you about your orders, including shipping and delivery updates
- To provide customer service, handle returns and refunds, and respond to your requests
- To send marketing communications, where you have opted in or where otherwise permitted (see Section 6)
- To measure and improve the performance of the Site and our advertising, and to develop new products and services
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
- To comply with our legal obligations, including tax and accounting requirements, and to enforce our Terms of Service
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share personal information only as described below:
- Service providers who help us run our business: Shopify, which hosts the Site and processes orders and payments; the payment provider you select at checkout; shipping carriers; email and SMS delivery providers; customer service tools; and analytics providers. These providers may use your information only to perform services for us.
- Advertising partners, including Meta and Google, which use cookies and similar technologies on the Site to measure our advertising and to show you relevant advertisements on other websites and apps. Under some U.S. state laws this is considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising. You can opt out as described in Section 5 and Section 9.
- Legal and safety purposes: to comply with the law, a court order, or a government request; to enforce our Terms of Service; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Alderon, our customers, or others.
- Business transfers: if Alderon is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy.
4. Payment Security
Payments are processed by our payment providers on PCI DSS compliant systems. Your full card details are transmitted directly to the payment provider and are never stored on our systems.
5. Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:
- Essential: to operate the Site, keep your cart and checkout working, and protect against fraud. These cannot be switched off.
- Analytics and performance: to understand how the Site is used so that we can improve it.
- Advertising: to measure our advertising and to show you relevant advertisements on other websites and apps, including through Meta and Google.
You can manage your choices at any time:
- Through our Your Privacy Choices page, where you can opt out of the sharing of your information for targeted advertising.
- By enabling a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser, which we honor as a request to opt out of targeted advertising.
- Through your browser settings, which let you block or delete cookies. Blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the Site, including checkout, from working.
- Through the advertising settings offered by Meta and Google, and through the industry opt-out tools of the Digital Advertising Alliance at optout.aboutads.info.
6. Marketing Communications
Email: We send marketing emails only if you have signed up for them or made a purchase and not opted out. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also opt out by contacting us. We will honor your request within 10 business days. We will continue to send transactional emails about your orders and account.
Text messages (SMS): If you opt in to text messages, we will send you order updates and, where you have separately agreed, marketing messages. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe or HELP for help. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchase.
7. Data Retention
We keep your personal information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this policy. Order records are retained for as long as required by tax and accounting laws, generally seven years. Marketing preferences are retained until you opt out. Analytics and advertising data is retained according to the settings of the relevant provider, and we retain it no longer than necessary for the purposes above.
8. Children's Privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your state, to make a purchase. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Your U.S. State Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights under state privacy laws, including those of California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and other states:
- Access: to confirm whether we process your personal information and to receive a copy of it
- Correction: to correct inaccurate personal information
- Deletion: to have your personal information deleted, subject to legal exceptions such as completing a transaction or keeping tax records
- Portability: to receive your personal information in a portable format
- Opt-out: to opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal information, and the sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising
- Non-discrimination: we will not deny you goods or services, charge you a different price, or provide a different level of service because you exercised your rights
To exercise your rights, email support@alderon-us.com with the subject line "Privacy Request," or use the Your Privacy Choices page to opt out of targeted advertising. We will verify your identity by matching the details you provide with the information we hold, such as your email address and a recent order number, and we will respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we will tell you why and when to expect a response. You may authorize an agent to make a request on your behalf; we may ask for proof of that authorization. If we decline a request, you may appeal by replying to our decision, and we will respond to your appeal within 45 days.
10. Notice to California Residents
This section supplements the rest of this policy for California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).
Categories of personal information we collect, and the purposes for which we collect them:
- Identifiers (name, email address, phone number, postal address, IP address, account login) — to fulfill orders, provide customer service, and communicate with you
- Commercial information (products purchased, considered, or returned; order history) — to fulfill orders, handle returns, and improve our range
- Internet or network activity (browsing and interaction with the Site and our advertisements) — to operate and improve the Site and measure our advertising
- Approximate geolocation (derived from IP address) — to show correct shipping options and prevent fraud
- Inferences drawn from the above (for example, product preferences) — to personalize our marketing
We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by the CCPA. Payment card details are collected directly by our payment providers.
Sources: you, your device, and the third parties listed in Section 1. Disclosures: the categories above are disclosed to the service providers listed in Section 3 for business purposes. Sale or sharing: we do not sell personal information for money. Identifiers and internet activity are shared with advertising partners for cross-context behavioral advertising, which the CCPA treats as "sharing." We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16. Retention: see Section 7.
California residents may opt out of sharing through the Your Privacy Choices page or a Global Privacy Control signal, and may exercise the rights described in Section 9. Under California's "Shine the Light" law (Civil Code Section 1798.83), California residents may request information about disclosures of personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes; we do not make such disclosures.
11. Security
We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including encryption of data in transit and access controls. The Site is hosted on Shopify, which maintains security programs for its platform. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Third-Party Links
The Site may contain links to websites and services operated by third parties, such as social media platforms and shipping carriers. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we are not responsible for them.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it was last revised. If we make material changes, we will post a notice on the Site or notify you by email before the changes take effect.
